Natty Nation

from Madison, Milwaukee, Chicago & Minneapolis


A collective of musicians from Madison, Milwaukee, Chicago & Minneapolis lead by JAH Boogie (lead vocals and bass) & musical director Aaron Konkol (keys, backing vocals & melodica). The independent all original touring & recording outfit is one of the original leading forces in USA based reggae.

Their messages of spreading positive vibrations, peace, love, building community, & universal spirituality have been ringing out since Natty’s inception in 1995.

Natty has backed up reggae legends Lee “Scratch” Perry, and Chaka Demus & Pliers, as well as Kevin Kinsella, founding member & lead singer of John Brown’s Body & 10ft. Ganja Plant, and shared the stage with Ziggy, Damian, & Stephen Marley, Sister Carol, Steel Pulse, Burning Spear, Toots & the Maytals, Wailing Souls, Culture with Joseph Hill, Beenie Man, & countless others.

Their energy is infectious & their dubtastic jams are complex, yet their overall message is simple: spread the positive vibration.

The People Brothers Band

One of the staples of Madison's vibrant music scene, The People Brothers Band is an 8-piece Rhythm & Soul powerhouse and their only desire is to get you moving on the dance floor. They are the winners of the Wisconsins Area Music Industry Award for 2014 Soul/R&B Band of the Year and the Madison Area Music Award for 2015 Pop/R&B Album of the Year (Middle of the In Between), 2013 Blues Album of the Year (People Brothers Live) & Blues Song of the Year (Looky Here Mister), but, most importantly, they are a family whose love for music and playing together shines brightly through each performance.

The People Brothers Band can be seen touring regionally in Wisconsin, Minnesota, Iowa, Illinois, & Michigan, heading out west to Colorado, and, of course, playing hometown shows in beautiful Madison.

The "Grasshoppers" was an idea, a concept formed by great psychedelic warriors who carried the name "Grasshoppers" until it was passed on into musical form. The message was and will always be to "set the monkey free", The monkey in your heart, head, and, soul.

Liver Killers

The Liver Killers are an acoustic 4 piece with rippin' licks and amazing harmonies. They attack your brain and make their way down to your liver. Their genre is coined as "Blue Faced Sh*t Grass"!

The Liver Killers were formed in the beautiful city of Green Bay; home of the "Zippin Pippin" in the summer of 2012 by guitarists Augie Barnhart, Pat Schorr, and bassist Roelke Thunderbolt. Towards the end of 2014, Dan Schrei joined the group adding the twangy rolls of the 5 string banjo.

The band names influences such as The Dillards, Bill Monroe, Roger Miller, Albert Lee, Earl Scruggs, Doc Watson, Jerry Reed, Hank, Chuck Berry, Augie and Evie Voss, and Mama Donna Mae.

The Pine Travelers

Pine Travelers create original music that combines the gritty Americana of outlaw country, folk, and bluegrass with old school funk rave-ups and roots rock & roll.

Based in Madison, WI, Pine Travelers have played close to 300 shows in 6 states since their inception in 2013, including Wisconsin, Illinois, Colorado, Texas, Minnesota, and Iowa. In addition to playing notable Madison venues like High Noon Saloon and The Crystal Corner, the band has also held a monthly residency at Alchemy, a favorite venue on Madison's east side, for a year.

The group's songs allow for a dance-able, energetic live show paired with honest, meaningful lyrics reflecting their northern midwest roots. Pine Travelers hope their music reflects their modest, hard-working values: rural values meshed with urban sensibility; engaging sets ranging from rustic roots music to funk grooves with a modern twist.

The Material Boys are a six piece acoustic act out of Madison Wisconsin. Their music is best described as Americana as they count Blues, Jazz, Folk, & Bluegrass as heavy influences. Their lively set includes original music along with traditional Bluegrass and Blues tunes with acoustic interpretations of Classic Pop Hits from the 1980's (with emphasis on Madonna's catalog of songs). The Material Boys can be seen Playing regionally around Madison Wisconsin and it's outlying communities. They recently recorded their Debut CD and have a release party coming up at the Crystal Corner in Madison on 10/15.

Sweet Delta Dawn is a Jam Band based out of Madison, Wisconsin. Heavily inspired by bands like the Grateful Dead, Pink Floyd, and Phish, they bring a few extra smiles everywhere they go. Their music is a blendification of psychedelic, jam, rock, blues, and specially chosen cover tunes. Sweet Delta Dawn is: Tyler Willenbrink on drums, Jeff Clarke on bass and vocals, Johnny C. Flowpoetry

Having bridged the gap between poetry and music, Flowpoetry's progressive and chill approach to spoken word jam transcends musical boundaries and interlaces shared storytelling and poetic vibration into a communal and collective consciousness that unifies the ancient and future as one. With over 950 shows in the USA with bands and as a solo poet, Flowpoetry was honored as a finalist for the MNSWA "Urban Griot" International/National Performer of the year alongside other poets such as Leonard Cohen and Saul Williams. In 2014, Flowpoetry was voted as one of Madison Magazine's Best Spoken Word/Poetry Performers. He is also a three-time finalist for Best Artist in the Annual Madison WI Area Music Awards.
